保罗·委罗内塞
意大利画家, (1528-1588)
委罗内塞，原名保罗·卡拉里，出生于威尼斯共和国治理下的委罗内，人们就称他为委罗内塞，这是他的绰号而非本名。父亲是一名石匠，委罗内塞原是提香的学生，他的父亲是一个雕塑家，因而他较早接受了艺术熏陶。委罗内塞在故乡，最初从师于委罗纳的画家安东尼奥·巴吉勒，后来到了罗马，又深受米开朗基罗等人的壁画影响。他和提香、丁托列托组成文艺复兴晚期威尼斯画派中的“三杰”。

委罗内塞早年在北意大利学习绘画和建筑，25岁时来到威尼斯城。提香对他产生了很大的影响，委罗内塞是仅次于提香，而与丁托列托并驾齐驱的威尼斯画派著名画家。

同时，威尼斯人富足而奢侈的生活也使委罗内塞非常吃惊。委罗内塞开始对这样的场面感到兴趣，便把这种世俗、欢快、花天酒地的生活搬上了自己的画面。

委罗内塞用巨大的画幅描绘威尼斯人的宴饮和婚礼，甚至借用宗教题材表现这种痛饮的场面。正因为委罗内塞过分随便地把基督和圣徒们绘在普通的宴乐场面中，终于遭到宗教裁判所的传讯。
