福特·马多克斯·布朗（ford madox brown 1821-1893）是著名的英国插画家和设计师。福特·马多克斯·布朗原本不是拉斐尔前派的成员，但他赞同此派的主张，给予拉斐尔前派不少指导和影响。他在意大利期间首先领会了早期文艺复兴艺术，并将这些介绍给英国皇家美术学院的学生。他有高度的写实技巧，受到学生们的尊敬。

福特·马多克斯·布朗以高度的写实造型技巧和大胆反传统画风吸引了相当一部分青年学生和画家，年轻的威廉·霍尔曼·亨特和约翰·埃弗里特·米莱斯等都与他过从甚密，在他的指导影响下从事艺术创作。布朗的创作题材取自于现实生活，他对英国社会的两极分化很为不满，他说：“现在的社会是听任撒旦在建造黑暗的磨坊。”他的创作反映了英国的社会现实。代表作品有《劳作》、《领走你的孩子,先生!》，他虽不是英国人，但在他的艺术作品中最富有英国气息。
